2012 — Tokyo


Introduction.
This series is a follow up of Life in the Business District. Made in Tokyo in 2012.
The contradiction of man, sparse nature and the lifeless modernistic landscape produce a dystopian image of the monotonous 9-to-5 mentality.

Project information.
After graduating at AKV | Sint Joost Breda in 2011 I won several prizes which I used to finance a trip to Tokyo together with Simone Mudde.
During this 6 week stay in Tokyo I spent most days in the business districts of Tokyo. Commuting everyday with the businessmen and women to Shinjuku, Shiodome and Shinbashi.








Exhbition views.
Japanese Non-Space has been exhibited at various different galleries. It has also been added to the permanent collection of ING Insurance.
